Emily Landsverk, MSW, LICSW, APHSW-C

Life can be messy. Relationships, complicated. Parenting, overwhelming. Communication, challenging. The evolution of technology and social media have created a sense of artificial intimacy, where our worth and value can feel tied to the number of likes, shares, and comments we receive. It can have profound impacts on our emotional, mental health and well-being. Emily believes in the power of human connection, genuine and authentic relationships. She strives to create a safe and welcoming environment for her clients. She believes that vulnerability is brave and can be a powerful tool within the context of therapeutic growth. Emily has extensive experience working with young adults, adolescents, children, and parents facing lifechanging health conditions, specifically childhood cancer. With a new cancer diagnosis comes a multitude of new feelings including anticipatory anxiety, grief, loss, depression, and more. She has had the honor and privilege of walking alongside these patients and their families through their journey in providing adjustment to illness counseling, psychoeducation surrounding the impact of a cancer diagnosis, education surrounding the evolution of hope through the trajectory of illness, as well as legacy building/meaning making. She can provide a safe, welcoming space with empathy and authenticity, where you can process your feelings/emotions, grieve, be challenged and find hope and meaning in the days ahead. Her goal is to meet you where you’re at and help you achieve your goals. Emily practices based a strengths based foundation, utilizing solution focused, cognitive behavioral, grief, and transitions focused frameworks.

Emily enjoys working with young adults, parents of adolescents, adolescents, those facing chronic/life-threatening illness, caregivers, heath care workers, and those experiencing difficulty with the challenges of navigating everyday life and finding balance.
